If you saw the 1989 cartoon version, you will recognize the songs and many scenes from it in this movie. The updated version is different in many ways, but it is still a beautiful movie. All the commotion about the ethnicity of the protagonist is absolutely ridiculous. Halle Bailey does the songs justice with her gorgeous and powerful voice.
